Terms of Use
Effective 26 July 2026
1. Agreement
1.1 These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and
the operator of chores (“we”, “us”, the
“Operator”) identified in §17, and govern your access to and use of the chores
service at https://chores.poietic.studio, including its website, its web application, and its Model Context Protocol
server (together, the “Service”).
1.2 By creating an account, using the Service, or connecting an AI client to it, you accept
these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1.3 In these Terms, a “Household” means a group created within the Service and
the members, chores and records belonging to it; a “Captain” means a member with
administrative rights over a Household; and “Content” means anything you or your
Household enters into the Service.
2. Eligibility
2.1 You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if
that is lower, to create an account.
2.2 A Household may include children who do not hold accounts. Where it does, the adult members
of that Household are responsible for their inclusion and for any Content entered about them.
3. Accounts and access
3.1 Accounts are created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the
security of that account and for all activity carried out through it.
3.2 Every member of a Household can see that Household's board, its members and its record. A
Captain can in addition change matters that bind other members, including who a chore falls to,
when it recurs, and the contents of the record.
3.3 You must notify us at contact@poietic.studio of any unauthorised use of
your account of which you become aware.
4. Your Content
4.1 You retain all rights in your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free
licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit and display your Content solely to the extent necessary
to operate, secure and support the Service.
4.2 You represent that you have the right to submit your Content and that it does not infringe
the rights of any third party or breach any applicable law.
4.3 The Service allows a Household to record a free-text description of each member, which may
concern a child. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you record about
another person and should record only what is necessary.
5. Personal data
5.1 We process personal data to provide the Service. The categories processed are: the identity
associated with your Google sign-in; the names of Household members; an email address for each
member who has one; any free-text description a Household records about a member; the chores, and
a log of what was done, by whom and on what date; and a push subscription for each device on which
alerts are enabled.
5.2 We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
5.3 Diagnostic recordings of individual requests may be made to investigate a fault. Email
addresses are replaced with opaque tokens before such recordings are written.
5.4 To exercise a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection or
portability, or to request deletion of a Household and its record, write to
contact@poietic.studio from an address associated with the Household. You may
also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
6. AI assistants
6.1 You may connect a third-party AI client to the Service. A connected client authenticates as
you and acts within your permissions; anything it adds, changes or removes is treated as your act
for the purposes of these Terms.
6.2 We are not responsible for the third-party AI client itself, which is governed by its own
provider's terms, nor for the accuracy of anything it states.
6.3 The Service will not apply a proposed redistribution of work over a recorded objection.
6.4 The record held by the Service is a Household's internal tool for sharing work. It is not an
employment record, not a record of legal effect, and not evidence of performance or non-performance
of any obligation.
7. Subscriptions and payment
7.1 The Service is offered on a free plan and on a paid plan, “Chores Plus”, which costs
€25 per year per Household, inclusive of applicable taxes where required, and
renews automatically for successive periods until cancelled.
7.2 Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who act as merchant of record and
authorised reseller of the Service. Your purchase is additionally subject to Paddle's terms and
privacy policy. Paddle issues a receipt for each charge containing a link to update payment details
or cancel the subscription.
7.3 You may cancel at any time, from the Plans page within the Service or from the link in any
Paddle receipt, with effect from the end of the current billing period. The Household retains
Chores Plus until that period ends. Except as set out in §7.4 and §11.3, fees already paid are not
refundable.
7.4 If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory
right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days. By purchasing you request that the Service
begin immediately; where you then withdraw, you may be charged in proportion to what was supplied
before withdrawal. To withdraw, write to contact@poietic.studio. Nothing in these
Terms limits a right you have under mandatory consumer law.
7.5 We may change the price of Chores Plus. A change takes effect at your next renewal and will
be notified to the billing address at least 30 days beforehand; you may cancel before it takes
effect.
7.6 Ending a paid plan does not delete anything. The Household reverts to the free plan,
existing Content continues to function, and only growth beyond the free plan's limits is
prevented.
8. Acceptable use
8.1 You must not use the Service to store, send or make available Content that is unlawful,
defamatory, abusive, harassing, or that infringes another person's rights, including their right to
privacy.
8.2 You must not attempt to access another Household's data or another user's account; probe,
scan or test the security of the Service; interfere with or place an unreasonable load on its
infrastructure; circumvent any usage limit or access control; or resell, sublicense or provide the
Service to third parties as a service of your own.
8.3 Automated access through the Model Context Protocol server, using your own credentials and
within your own permissions, is a normal use of the Service and is not restricted by §8.2.
9. Intellectual property
9.1 The Service, including its software, design and text, is owned by the Operator or its
licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a limited,
revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with them, and no
other right.
9.2 You may not copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the Service except to the extent that
such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
10.1 The Service is provided on a continuing basis but without a guaranteed level of
availability. It may be interrupted for maintenance, and notifications may be delayed or fail to
arrive.
10.2 We may add, modify or remove features. Where a change materially reduces the functionality
of a paid plan, you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of the period
already paid for.
11. Suspension and termination
11.1 You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion under §5.4.
11.2 We may suspend or terminate access, on notice where reasonably practicable, if you breach
§8, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us or another
user to material risk.
11.3 If we terminate a paid plan other than for your breach, we will refund the unused portion
of the period already paid for.
11.4 We may discontinue the Service as a whole on at least 60 days' notice, during which you may
export or request a copy of your Household's data, and we will refund the unused portion of any
paid period.
12. Disclaimer
12.1 To the extent permitted by law, and without prejudice to §12.2, the Service is provided “as
is” and “as available”, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
12.2 Nothing in this §12 affects the legal guarantee of conformity or any other mandatory right
available to you as a consumer.
13. Limitation of liability
13.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused
by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot
lawfully be excluded or limited, including a consumer's mandatory statutory rights.
13.2 Subject to §13.1, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss,
nor for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or anticipated saving, nor for loss arising from work not
being carried out, a notification not being delivered, or a record being inaccurate.
13.3 Subject to §13.1, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the
Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the
Service in that period and €50.
13.4 §13.2 and §13.3 do not apply to damage that could not reasonably have been foreseen at the
time the contract was concluded, where applicable law provides otherwise.
14. Indemnity
14.1 If you use the Service other than as a consumer, you will indemnify us against any claim,
liability, loss or reasonable expense arising from your Content or from your breach of §8.
15. Changes to these Terms
15.1 We may amend these Terms. The effective date above will be updated, and a change that
materially affects a paid plan or your rights will be notified by email at least 30 days before it
takes effect.
15.2 If you do not accept an amendment, you may cancel before it takes effect; continuing to use
the Service afterwards constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law and disputes
16.1 These Terms are governed by French law. The courts of France have jurisdiction, save that,
if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, you retain the protection of the
mandatory provisions of the law of your place of residence and may bring proceedings there.
16.2 Before bringing proceedings, please contact us at contact@poietic.studio
so that we can try to resolve the matter. Consumers in the European Union may also use the European
Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
16.3 If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder
continues in full force.
17. The Operator
17.1 The Service is operated by poietic.studio.
17.2 Notices, questions, data requests and complaints:
